Kids Helping Kids
At Club Penguin, we’re committed to improving the lives of children everywhere by supporting organizations doing important work on behalf of the world’s youngest and most vulnerable citizens.
Approximately 10 per cent of of every Club Penguin membership is used to support specific local and global projects. Currently, our funds are focused on two building projects in a small Ugandan village and a children’s hospital project in Romania.
Supporting these projects is our way of allowing the kids who join Club Penguin to play a role in securing a happier and healthier future for other children around the globe. It’s kids helping kids, something we can all be proud of.
Romania
Home Makeover
We partnered with an international organization in conjunction with Romanian social workers to improve the home of one family in the village of Budila. In Fall 2006, new materials were purchased and work was carried out. The renovation has provided this family with a healthier and more stable environment in which they can live.
Brasov Children’s Hosptial Project
Over crowded hospitals and abandoned children, combined with a severe shortage of orphanages and foster care, has left a great number of Romanian children in need of help.
Club Penguin is helping one organization address this need through the Brasov Children’s Hospital Project. This undertaking will provide care for abandoned children and work toward reintegrating children with their families where possible.
Renovation on rooms in Brasov Children’s Hospital has begun, enabling this project to get underway. A team of social workers and caregivers are in place to help. Support for this project is given on an ongoing basis and adjusted as need arises.
Meal and Education Program
This project provides children who are having difficulty in school and combating malnutrition with extra help in several villages and towns.
Children are selected by the local school board, and given the opportunity to attend the program where they receive lunch, after class help, computer training and specialized one on one care.
Club Penguin provides continual support for this initiative and evaluates funding as need changes.

Uganda
School and Dormitories
Club Penguin’s newest Kids Helping Kids project will improve the lives of African children orphaned by AIDS and war.
We are working with an organization to build a school and dormitories in Fort Portal, a city in western Uganda.
The dormitories will provide housing and security, meeting one of their most immediate physical needs. The school will focus on meeting educational needs, providing its students the opportunities to learn and have access to knowledge.
The school and dormitories are currently in planning phases. Details regarding building and progress will be provided as work continues.
Medical Clinic
We have committed to help build a medical clinic that will provide children access to basic medical treatment. This clinic will be built in Rwebisengo, a village along the Ugandan border with Congo.
This project is currently in its organizational phase. Updates will be provided as work continues and building begins.
